Ministry of Health ties the nut with the media on partnership and collaboration

In a day town hall meeting with the press and social media bloggers, the communication unit of the Ministry of Health has organized a day meeting with leadership and a cross-section of the media hierarchy in Sierra Leone, Monday 24th June, 2024.

This meeting discussed what is needed for better collaboration and participation to help improve the health sector in Sierra Leone.

Members present included but were not limited to the chairman of the Independent Media Commission (IMC) president of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) chairman Guild of Editors, the president of Women in the Media Sierra Leone (WIMSAL) National Coordinator Health Reporters Network, Bloggers union and CSO representatives from Health Alert and Health for All Coalition among others.

This meeting ended with different presentations from the aforementioned institutions and groups on what they believe the ministry needed to do to ensure effective collaboration for better health service delivery in Sierra Leone.

The minister of health, doctor Austin Demby, assured the media representatives and participants of this meeting of his firm commitment to work in consonant with the various resolutions presented as he found them worthy of strong health outcomes and partnership.
